Apple Rolls

This was a long weekend for me (had a friday off) so I had a loads of free time and I decided to bake something yummy.

Recepie I took from here (it has loads of photos showing all step by step BUT is in Russian). So for those who don't understand I did some translations :)

You will need:

for dough:
- 100 g of fresh yeast;
- 5 eggs;
- 0.5 cups milk (or water);
- 150 g of sugar;
- 250 g of margarine;
- 0.5 cups of vegetable oil;
- 5-6 cups of flour.

for filling:
- 0,5 kg of apples;
- 100 g of raisins;
- 4-5 tablespoons of sugar;
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

First - making dough.

Crumble the fresh yeast into a bowl, mash with 1 - 1.5 tablespoons of sugar. When yeast is melted, add a little bit of water or milk - it must be warm (not hot and not cold!). Then add a little bit flour and stir to avoid lumps. Yeast loves warm, so put a bowl with a brew in container with warm water and cover with a clean towel. Leave it for about 10-15 minutes.

Meanthime whisk the eggs and remaining sugar.
Melt the margarine or butter to liquid in the microwave or on the stove over the low heat.

Mix together yeast, beaten eggs and melted margarine (it should be warm, but not hot).

Add the oil, stir and begin to gradually add flour. Will be great to sift it through a sieve or colander, because then flour will be enriched with oxygen that is needed to yeast (then it will easier raise the dough).

Knead the dough, then cover it with a clean towel and put in a warm place for 15 minutes. Risen dough gently punch - and you can mold patties.

While the dough is rising, prepare the filling: wash, take out the middle and peel the apples, cut them into small slices, add steamed raisins, stir.

Sprinkle the table with flour.

Roll out the dough into a rectangle with thickness of half a centimeter.

Put the filling over the dough and spread it evenly.

Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon

Wrap a roll and cut it into pieces about 3 cm thick.

Place them on a greased baking sheet and put in a preheated oven. Bake at 180-200C for about 20-25 minutes. Later check - if rolls are dry and started turning brown, grease them with beaten egg and put back in the oven for another 5 minutes, adding more heat.

Rolls turns out soft and delicious!

  1. Bon Appetit!
